Why did we create this portal?

We created this portal to help districts establish a strong system of support for their teachers that goes beyond the evalution, and to personalize professional learning for every teacher. The goal is to recognize existing knowledge, provide personalized need-based support for teachers to feel more confident and accelerate student success, and to prevent redundant PD and wasted time.

How can my district effectively use this portal to support teachers?

This portal is for teachers. Teachers get what they need when they need it, grounded in the most relevant Framework for Teaching. This portal organizes higher-quality professional learning aligned to every component and domain of the FFT. Districts no longer need to keep track of siloed areas of content and learning because this portal unifies all parts of the PD experience in one place - including growth goals, content, PLCs, coaching and mentorship, learning portfolio and even re-certification requirements where applicalbe.

Many districts have unique tools that fit the specific context of their community and student population. Therefore, the admin side of the portal offers data-driven insights for district leadership to clarify who needs what kind of professional learning in the first place, as well as the intuitive tools to shape and personalize professional learning for every teacher, at scale. Visit our FFT Knowledge Base to learn about specific ways to effectively use this portal.

How long does it take to implement this portal at my school, district or state?

It takes less than a day to launch the full strength of the portal for your school, district or state. Your unique portal includes over 400 resources already vetted by the Danielson Group and its partners for higher quality. What’s more, a district can add its own resources, best practices, communities, coaches and support staff, all the while having direct access from their Danielson Group framework specialists to get training and support as needed.

My district uses the 2013 version of the FFT. What are the major differences?

Please see this side-by-side comparison of the major changes between the two FFT versions. There are still four domains and 22 components that you are familiar with. In order to ease the transition for teachers and admins, your portal includes this FFT interactive map and also illustrates changes at the component level.

Do we have to switch our evaluation process to use this portal?

No, we recognize that the process of switching to the new framework can take time at the district or state level. Therefore, the current (default) evaluation continues to offer the 2013 version and can be easily switched over to the 2022 version when you are ready. The teachers’ learning, on the other hand, already incorporates the latest version of the FFT providing additional opportunity to ease into the transition and familiarize all teachers with the latest and most important best practices.

How can we transition from 2013 to the updated FFT version?

You can continue to use the 2013 version for teacher evaluation for as long as it is relevant at your school, district or state. The portal will dynamically “translate” existing evalution results into the personalized learning context for every teacher, and will be complemented by a teachers’ reflection about their teaching practices aligned to the updated version of the FFT.

Can we pilot the portal before making a commitment districtwide?

Absolutely! First of all, this portal is offered at no cost to individual educators, so you can always see how it works. The full version of the portal - with the admin-level part that lets you oversee and customize the learning experience, can also be implemented as a pilot before you commit to a long-term implementation. Please see this pricing page to explore the value proposition and associated license model.
